Welcome to Collingwood Children's Farm, a playful and educational destination for kids and adults alike!

Located just minutes from Melbourne's bustling city centre, our charming farm offers a unique opportunity to experience the joy of interacting with friendly animals, exploring picturesque landscapes and learning about sustainable farming practices.

We are open most days of the year from 9.30am. Operating hours may vary due to weather, resourcing, public holidays and special events. Follow us on Instagram for the most up-to-date information on today’s operating hours.


Entry Fees & Ticket Sales

Collingwood Children’s Farm is a not-for-profit community organisation. Your entry fees help us to care for our animals, the land, and fund educational and community programs.

Tickets can be booked online before your visit, valid for entry from 9:30 am onwards, or you you can purchase them from our friendly Visitor Experience team at Reception whenever you arrive. Please note that tickets are strictly non-refundable unless under extreme circumstances.

General Admission

  • Adult: $20

  • Child: $10 (24 months—17 years)

  • Infant: $0 (24 months and under)

Children under 16 years old must be accompanied/supervised by an adult.
If they are not accompanied by an adult, they will be refused entry. 

Discounted Admission

  • Student Card Holder: $15 (enrolled at a recognised higher education provider)

  • Victorian Senior Card Holder: $15

Concession Admission

  • Adult Concession Card Holder: $10

  • Child named on Concession Card: $0 (24 months—17 years)

  • Infant: $0 (24 months and under)

  • Carer: $10 (where attending in support of somebody with a disibility)

Valid Concessions: Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, DVA Veteran Card, Companion Card and Carer Card

Dogs

  • Dogs are most welcome, but must remain on leash at all times.

Annual Pass Holders and Association Members

FREE - Please introduce yourself at Reception upon arrive so that we can check you in.

  • Annual Passes and Association Memberships are strictly non-transferable and non-refundable. Thank you for your cooperation.

What’s on at the Farm?

Daily activities

Public activities are planned by our farmers at the beginning of each day. We post the day’s schedule as a story on our Instagram account. Click the image to see our stories, and while you’re at it follow @collingwoodchildrensfarm to stay up to date on all our goings on!

  • On weekends, public and school holidays, we aim to run activities across the full day.

  • On weekdays during the school term afternoon activities may be subject to change.

  • All activities are subject animal wellbeing considerations, weather and other factors.

    • Guinea pig activities cease when temperatures reach 30°C/86°F.

    • All animal-related activities cease for the day when temperatures reach 35°C/95°F.

Special activities

  • The apiary is open the second and fourth Sundays of every month, from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm.

  • Workshops and other special events are announced on our instagram page.

  • Tickets for our special paid Guinea Pig Care workshops are available here.

Produce sales

  • The Farm Gate produce stall is open Thursday to Sunday in the colder months and seven days during Summer.

  • Eggs sell out early, often before 11:00am. Get your skates on, quiche eaters!

Please note

To protect our birds from a current Avian Influenza outbreak, please do not enter the Farm if:

  • you have pet birds,

  • have recently visited another farm or zoo with birds, or

  • have been in the restricted or control areas (Meredith, Lethbridge and Terang).

Avian Influenza is not a risk to human health or the eggs we sell, but it is a serious risk to the lives of our birds.

Getting Here

The Farm is a hidden gem at the end of 18 St Heliers Street, Abbotsford. Getting here is easy!

By Train
Take the Mernda or Hurstbridge train line to Victoria Park Railway Station. Walk down Johnston Street for 10 minutes towards Kew.
Turn right into Clarke Street, then left into St Heliers Street. The Farm is at the end of St Heliers Street, down the hill.

By Bus
Take the 200 or 207 bus route to the Johnston/Clarke Street stop. Turn left into St Heliers Street.

By Bicycle
Take the Capital City cycling and walking trail. 

By Car
Drive to St Heliers Street, Abbotsford. Parking is available in the Abbotsford Convent car park, across the road from the Convent and just before the end of St Heliers Street. Turn left from the pay station towards the end of the street.

Parking Fees
For hourly rates and more information visit the Abbotsford Convent website. Collingwood Children’s Farm does not manage this carpark and we cannot validate parking.

Limited-time free parking is available on Yarra Boulevard, just off Studley Park Road.
