Frequently Asked Questions - Guinea Pig Workshops

Bookings

How many sessions are there? How long do they run?

  • The workshop includes three sessions of 90 minutes apeice. As each session builds on the previous one, so we recommend attending all three—but you’re welcom to pick and choose as you wish.

Does my workshop ticket include Farm entry?

  • Sorry, entry to the Farm is not included in your ticket. Workshops take place in a Farm House adjacent to the main site, and since it runs over three days we decided that unbundling Farm entry would save participants money.

Is there an age limit?

  • We have catered our content for those aged above 7 years old.

I booked a session but now I’m unable to attend!

  • You may cancel your booking for any reason 14 days in advance of the original session date, in exchange for a full refund minus booking fees.

  • We can transfer you to a different session, pending availability. Just click the “Manage order” link in your confirmation email or get in touch directly via reception@farm.org.au.

On the day

What should I wear?

  • We always recommend closed toed shoes and weather appropriate clothing when visiting the Farm or working with animals. The workshop will be conducted indoors, but be aware that there will be animal handling.

Will there be refreshments?

  • Food and beverages aren’t supplied as part of the workshop, but encourage you to check out our friends at the Farm Cafe. We are also located next to the Abbotsford Convent, which has many options for food and drink.

Can I bring my guinea pig?

  • Unfortunately, due to biosecurity concerns, we cannot allow you to bring your guinea pig. We would love to see some photos of them though!

Do I need to stay with my child or can I drop them off at the workshop?

  • All minors need to have a supervising adult with them for the duration of the workshop. The good news is that if you’re not participating but just supervising, your ticket is free.

Please also note that if temperatures top 30°C, animal welfare concerns necessitate that we cancel all Guinea Pig activities, including workshops. You will receive a refund for this portion of the booking.

We look forward to having you, and hope you have a wonderful, enjoyable day!
