Our Horses

Charlie Benson: Is the tallest horse on the farm and being a Clydesdale cross he has very big feet! Charlie is the boss horse on the farm but a real softy.
Ted: Is midnight black and has film star looks. He is as tall as Charlie, but not quite so wide! Despite his size, he is very cuddly and loves being patted.
Zac: Is a grey (white) horse who has the dependability of his Waler mother and the cheeky sense of humour of his thoroughbred grandfather, Souvenir. He like to go slow (as slow as he can get away with), but if you insist he will move along nicely. His latest trick is to hold the lead rope in his mouth and take his handler for a walk.
Brandy: Very cute little pony mare who is bay in colour, with a sweeping mane and tail. She will happily come up to the fence for pats and loves a scratch on her
Joey: Joe is the oldest horse on the farm, and the smallest. The nicest Shetland we have ever met, in spring he is on a strict diet as the rich grass makes him much too fat! He is great fun and loves as many pats as you want to give him. Remember, no treats though!
Tyson: is an Australian Riding Pony gelding, and measures about 12.2hh. He loves going bush walking, but hates to get wet!
Harry Potter: is another grey, but a pony. He is a Welsh Mountain Pony, and is very strong, even though he is only 12 hh! He is 15 years old, and his Stud name is ‘Nattai Magician’, and he is very curious about everything.
The Waler is a breed of horse that was formed in the very early years of Australia's history. The first horses brought to Australia were a mixture of draft, coach and pony breeds. These breeds were used to establish a hardy, versatile type of horse that became essential to early settlers. This type of horse was later on to become known as the Waler.
