Waler horses visiting the Farm for Anzac Day

Ever wondered what sort of horses went to WW1?

They were the best of the stock and station horses from around Australia- and theirdescendants are still around.

Nowadays called the Waler Horse, they are classified as a rare breed, and supported by Colllingwood Childrens Farm.

On ANZAC Day,  Walers horses Fisher and Mega are coming to visit Zac, out resident Waler, so people can meet these amazing horses and hear the stories of what they did, and get a taste of what it might have been like to work with these horses.

Angela Tiede, owner and breeder of Waler horses, will be here from 10.30am onwards to share her knowledge of these remarkable animals and their place in Australia’s history.
